Abstract
In 2022 the historic College Hill home in Pullman that for a century served as the Washington State University president's residence was renamed in honor of a pioneering female faculty member, Ida Lou Anderson. She taught at WSU from 1926 until 1939 and was among the most influential faculty at WSU and counted among her numerous mentees the eminent broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow. This book looks at the history of Ida Lou Anderson, the history of Washington State College during her tenure, and the architectural history and context of the building itself.
