Abstract
This dissertation inspected issues, such as communication, distance, control, conflict, conflict-handling modes, trust, knowledge sharing, and transactive knowledge, involved in the Global Software Development (GSD) phenomenon in three manuscripts. First, it investigated the trend of the research in the GSD research stream from 1999-2009. Second, it investigated how the inherent character of GSD, distance, affects the control and conflict in the GSD teams. Finally, it investigated the knowledge sharing, trust, and communication situations in the emergent GSD firms in China. The author provided recommendations on each of the discussed issues and the future research directions in GSD studies.
