Abstract
カリーKARII, 縁起が良い, A GOOD OMEN is a multimedia installation that consists of five sections: multiple screens with 3D printed sculptural pieces, Animation, the vertically bounded painting hanging from the ceiling, Styrofoam sculptures with paper scroll hanging above, and resin cast floats on a table with digital projection projected over. I use multimedia installations to reconstruct the fragments of Okinawan culture, memories, and history into a new and empowered identity. I aim to create a secret space where the past and present are intertwined and form a new positive path to celebrate the resilience of proud people and culture. This body of work addresses empowerment and a better future.
