Abstract
Every year urban parks benefit thousands of people by offering a location for both physical activity and social interaction. Many urban parks in the United States were designed and built without much consideration for the physically disabled. Parks without these design consideration can prove unusable for those with physical disabilities. Studies show that the United States' physically disabled population will be growing exponentially over the next ten years. The pedestrian trail system for an urban park located in Spokane, Washington was analyzed for accessibility with the aid of ArcGIS and current literature. Subsequently, recommendations for creating greater accessibility in the park are made.
