Abstract
The results reveal that PBC only influences the Chinese consumers' EFA purchase intention while attitude and subjective norm positively affect consumers' EFA purchase intention in both countries. Long-term orientation shows positively significant effect on consumers' attitudes toward EFA purchase in both countries. Collectivism orientation effectively shapes the Chinese consumers' subjective norm and affects the U.S. consumers' attitude toward EFA purchase. PCE positively affects EFA purchase intention in both countries. In addition, environmental apparel knowledge and past EFA purchase behavior have no significant influence on consumers' EFA purchase intention in either country. Furthermore, the effects of collectivism orientation on PCE, attitude, and subjective norm are significantly different between the U.S. and Chinese consumers. Based on the findings, theoretical and managerial implications are provided.
