Abstract
CcSeek is a simple but useful graphical editing tool for finding motifs in regions of protein sequences via sequence alignment. It exploits the sensitivity of human vision to both colors and patterns; in fact, the 'cc' in 'ccSeek' is an acronym for 'colored circles' because colored circles are used to represent 20 amino acids and their different properties. Interactive editing is intuitive and is performed using both mouse click-and-drag and menus; most menu editing actions have keyboard shortcuts.
