Abstract
Mapping the yield of a harvest can help a grower better understand what is happening in their fields. Yield data can be paired with other data, such as photosynthesis active radiation (a measurement of the amount of light penetrating the canopy), to assess their orchard and to cultivate a better crop. A yield map helps growers pinpoint low production areas in their orchard. In pairing the data with other information the growers can compare the areas of different yield and discern what may be effecting the area and possibly causing problems. To better estimate yield, we take into account the patterns of different harvesting operations. We propose a method that allows a grower to customize the distributions of distance measurement to improve the estimate of the yield data. The different distributions will allow growers to choose the one that best predicts the way their crews are harvesting. With a better understanding of how the crews are harvesting, this method will improve the accuracy of a yield map
