Abstract

Gastroesophageal reflux -- Diagnosis Gastroesophageal reflux -- Treatment
Gastroesophageal reflux disease is one of the most common conditions originating from the gastrointestinal tract. Approximately 60 million Americans suffer from heartburn, one of the cardinal symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease. This paper reviews the proper diagnostic workup and the wide variety of treatments for gastroesophageal reflux disease, which range from simple lifestyle modifications to surgical repair.
