Abstract
Background and Objective: The implementation of STEMI guidelines and early reperfusion therapy with fibrinolytics or PCI improves short-term and long-term STEMI patient outcomes. Identifyillg concepts that facilitate the development of systems and guidelines along with identifyillg barriers that hinder development of systems and guidelines is important for the rural nurse implementing STEMI guidelines. The purpose of this paper is to examine the facilitators of, and barriers to, developing specific strategies for implementation of ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) guidelines in a rural area.
