Fibromyalgia Community health services Patient education
This paper explores the use of a process model to develop and implement a community support program for fibromyalgia patients. The program is still well attended two years after its inception. The results of the patient questionnaire revealed the themes for the six basic education presentations and became the basis for the topics and themes used in the ongoing support groups. The discussion provides the reader with a step by step approach to setting up a community fibromyalgia support program. The model could be utilized for community education and support program planning for patients with other chronic diseases as well.
