Abstract
Open Harmony is an immersive installation that explores the intersection of material, color, light, space, and sound. The work directs attention to synthetic and organic debris that I elevate beyond the limits of form and function through thoughtful processes. The interaction of materials with color and space draws interdisciplinary connections to the languages of abstract painting and music. Complex orchestration of forms in the gallery asks the viewer to spend time with the work and invites them to explore multiple viewpoints as they walk through the space. Open Harmony fosters a sense of interconnectedness and endlessness as the viewer becomes lost in the multitude of dynamic constellations. In this, I seek to foster a sense of looking and fluid moving that allows the viewer to forget where they came from, where they need to go, and even for a moment, be physically and psychologically present through their senses.
