Abstract
Through sculpture, installation, and new media, I compose functional industrial objects to represent tension. The tension of existing in a world between languages where there is consistent difficulty to communicate. A large part of communication is language. Written Chinese, my native language, is constructed based on grids. This desire for grid-like control stays in my blood and influences the way I process the world around me. My cognition is challenged by the cursive western type of communication. Fit or unfit, understand or misunderstand, useable or useless; my relationship with the world is liminal.
