Abstract

Professional sports--Economic aspects.

The author uses the NBA historical data over 2005-06 to 2009-2010 seasons and other related data to estimate how star power influence team revenue and gate revenue of the NBA teams. Empirical results provided strong evidence of hypothesis that star power produces a statistically significant effect on team total revenue and gate revenue.
