Abstract
The authors describe the application of a transient stability program to the scenario building of a power system operator training simulator (OTS). The main functions of the transient stability program in the OTS scenario building are event creation and scenario validation. The interfaces between the stability program and the OTS software are described. These interfaces are required for dealing with the different program and data structures between the transient stability program and the OTS software. These interfaces have been designed in such a way that a case corresponding to an OTS snapshot can be conveniently set up for stability analysis and the events occurring in the stability simulations can be easily incorporated in the OTS simulation. Test results and implementation considerations for OTS scenario building using the stability program are presented and discussed.< >
