Shared Integrated Library System Migration From a Technical Services Perspective

Abstract
In this article the authors provide an overview of the Washington State University Libraries' journey from planning the implementation of a new shared integrated library system to 'go live' from a technical services perspective and discusses the challenges encountered by Washington State University Libraries Technical Services. Examples from the literature and the authors' own experiences are used to discuss aspects of data migration and implementation of a new shared integrated library system. This article should be of interest to those planning data migration, whether to a traditional integrated library system or a cloud based library management system.
