Abstract
This Letter describes cw-CO 2 laser vaporization and gas-phase condensation of nanophase ZnO, Eu 2O 3 and ZrO 2 (particle diameters range from 5–280 nm, 2–30 nm, and 1–13 nm, respectively). ZnO forms in the usual room-temperature crystal structure but Eu 2O 3 crystallizes in a metastable monoclinic phase.
