Abstract

Conservation proposals Rare books
Conserving Repaired Rare Early Modern Books. In the 1970s and 1980s, an amateur volunteer severely damaged more than 500 early printed books when she rebound them. By utilizing modern conservation techniques and reversible treatments, this proposal seeks to repair the damage to more than 100 of these books. The competitive grant was awarded at the full amount requested. The grant is administered by the Washington State Library as part of the 2007 LSTA Preservation Initiative.
