Abstract
This paper reviews and analyzes the presence of multiphonics in modern bassoon repertoire. An analysis will be done of three works for bassoon that include multiphonics, displaying their function and purpose within the music. These works are Music for Dr. Who by David Maslanka, Mist by Kyle Hovatter, and Niggun by Phillipe Hersant. A performance guide will also be conducted to provide insight into the notation and execution of each multiphonic. Recordings of each piece have also been made and are provided as an audible aid.
