Abstract

Antibiotic residues. Bacterial diseases--Control. Apples. Pears. Antibiotics in agriculture. Pesticides.
The use of antibiotics in agriculture is under scrutiny because of concerns about the potential for development of resistance to medical antibiotics. This publication discusses the use of antibiotics in commercial apple and pear orchards and gives a summary of a study looking for residues remaining on fruit at harvest.
