Hispanic American farmers--Washington (State) Communication in agriculture--Washington (State)
As Washington agricultural communities become more culturally and ethnically diverse, communicating and building relationships across cultures has become more important. Many factors play a role in successful cross-cultural communication, including developing an understanding of history, language and communication aspects, cultural differences; and specific farmer needs and situations. This publication presents a high- and low-context culture model to help understand the different approaches to farming by Latino and white/Anglo populations. Bridging cultural and language differences is a key to the success of service providers in agriculture and Latino farmers.
