Abstract

Once the world's dominant plant group, horsetails and scouring rushes appear in wet to moist areas, along roadsides, and on disturbed areas. Common forms produce whorled, green, jointed branches on hollow stem, or hollow, leafless stems. Poisonous to animals, particularly horses. Cultural and chemical controls discussed. 4 pages.
