Abstract
Quality assurance, an integral part of most businesses today, is also important for livestock producers. Quality assurance is important for profitability, customer confidence, and food safety. Topics covered include: feed selection and use, feed additives, pesticides, drug usage, drug and chemical withdrawal times, proper treatment methods, the importance of consulting a verterinarian about animal health or drug usage quesitons, and the consequences if illegal residues are found in an animal. Information applies to both beef and pork producers. Includes illustrations, a glossary of terms, and a list of contacts. 22 pages.
