Abstract

Higher grade forage produces milk, meat, and wool more efficiently. Guidelines show buyers and sellers how to adjust the price to reflect forage quality and calculate a price of silage equal to a base hay price. The methods discussed will ensure fair pricing for all parties by using a repeatable, understandable, and accurate method. Discussion, easy to use formulas and worksheets make this a useful tool. 14 pages.
