Abstract

Considered the major pests of seed alfalfa crops, they also damage sugar beet plants, cause cat-facing injury to peaches and apricots, and can attack other crops. The legume bug, Lygus hesperus, or brown lygus is discussed with emphasis on the method of injury, life history, late season activity, and predators that help in control. Illustrations assist identification of life stages. 2 pages.
