The purpose of this project was to determine whether S2G BioChemical’s (S2G) catalytic sugar-to-glycol technology was a suitable and cost-effective solution for cellulosic sugars produced using Washington State University’s (WSU) unique micronized wood process. S2G has developed a novel technology which purifies cellulosic sugars and converts them into propylene glycol (PG) and ethylene glycol (EG) using catalytic hydrogenation and hydrogenolysis reactors.
