Abstract

Growers who know and understand persistence, half-life, and mobility of chemical pesticides that protect crops, can reduce the risk of pesticides leaching from the rooting zone of crops to groundwater. Soil permeability and site conditions also are important factors. Soil organic carbon adsorbs pesticides. By David J. Mulla, Ronald E. Hermanson, and Richard C. Maxwell. 4 pages.
