Abstract

Aphids and other insects leave a sugary honeydew that favors development of this black sooty fungus coating. Seen in evergreen shrub leaves of rhododendron, laurel, camellia, as well as on Douglas-fir and other conifers. A photograph demonstrates the disease on typical leaves and the text introduces control. 1 page.
