Abstract

This insect has a spring- or catapult-like mechanism under the abdomen, which allows it to jump away when it senses danger. A beneficial insect in the soil, where it feeds on fungi, it can become a houseplant pest indoors. Usually found in moist areas or on swimming pools. 2 pages.
