Abstract

This plant is a noxious weed in California, Oregon, and Utah. Not yet found in Washington or Idaho. A long-lived perennial characterized by multiple rosettes atop a stout taproot, the knapweed is identified by color photos of mature plant and flower head. Often spreads along old sheep trails. Readily adapts to range conditions. Cultural and chemical controls discussed. 2 pages.
