Abstract

Extended drought can reduce both the amount and quality of feed for cattle, as well as the minerals available from that feed. Cattle owners need to supplement phosphorus, vitamin A, and protein to avoid cow/calf health problems. This bulletin gives specific recommendations for these supplements, as well as for using salt to limit intake of grain or oil meals as supplemental feeds. 2 pages.
