Abstract
To help minimize stresses that negatively impact human safety and morale, along with cattle performance and health, cattle handlers should implement low-stress cattle handling techniques. This fact sheet describes low-stress cattle handling techniques to enhance cattle health performance, and meat quality, but also improve handler safety and morale and the public perception of beef cattle production. Topics covered include handling and moving techniques in relation to cattle's natural behavior, aids for moving cattle, and facility design for safe handling.
