Abstract
This document serves as a free resource to beginner tubists who are not able to afford private instruction and want to improve their approach to solo repertoire. I chose three solos from the Concert and Contest Collection book to showcase my practice methods and how I approach learning new music. These pieces have been selected because they demonstrate stylistic differences between eras in music such as Baroque, Classical, and Contemporary and because many all-state auditions use this book. I have used colloquial and familiar language throughout this document as this is intended for a youth-intended audience.
