Dr. Trevor James Bond is the Dean of Libraries at Washington State University.
Trevor Bond received his Master's in Library and Information Science with a specialization in Archives and Preservation Management and a Masters in Ancient History at UCLA. In 2009, he was promoted to the rank of Librarian IV/Professor. He completed his Ph.D. at WSU in the Department of History in 2017. His dissertation is titled, “Why should we have to buy our own things back?” The struggle over the Spalding-Allen Collection. He is the author of Coming Home to Nez Perce Country: The Niimiipuu Campaign to Repatriate Their Exploited Heritage. Pullman: Washington State University Press, 2021. Finalist for the 2022 Washington State Book Award for non-fiction.
He recently completed two grants funded by the Washington State Library in collaboration with the Nez Perce Tribe's Cultural Resources Program. He has presented widely at professional conferences and published articles on collecting and Northwest history. As a member of Humanities Washington’s Speakers Bureau, Bond is currently giving his talk, “Coming Home: How the Nez Perce Tribe Regained Their Cultural Heritage,” around the state and online.
